Dear Parents/Guardians, Staff, and Students:
Welcome to the 2010-2011 school year. I am honored to be the new Principal at Wilbur Watts Intermediate School. We have many goals to accomplish throughout these next ten months. Student achievement is priority number one and our most important goal. Everyone on our Wilbur Watts Wildcat Team – students, staff, parents, and families – has an important role to play in the success of our students.
One role which we can all play is to be excellent communicators. The school and the home need to stay in constant touch in order to help our students achieve. Parents and guardians can stay in touch with teachers and the school through email, phone calls, website, and the community portal. Staff will return emails and phone calls during non-instructional time. I am available and will make every effort to return messages in a timely manner. Students should bring their Student Handbook home and have it signed every night. In addition, students will bring home a “Wildcat Folder” every Wednesday which will include important classroom, school, and district information.
.As we begin what I hope is a challenging and rewarding school year, please keep in mind the following important reminders:
Wilbur Watts has a new bell schedule. The regular day is now 8:00 am – 2:40 pm.
Tuesday, 9/7/10 is the first day of school. It is a half-day for
students. Students should report at 8:00 and will be dismissed at
12:15.
Wednesday, 9/8/10 is a regular day (8:00 – 2:40).
The new Uniform Policy will be in effect starting on the first day of
school (9/7/10).
On September 7th, students will get a packet of very important
information. Please take the time to read and return all required
documents.
Please do not hesitate to contact me at 609-387-5834 if you have questions.
Sincerely,
James Flynn
Principal
